# Software Architect — Next.js Supabase TypeScript

## Architecture Review Process

### 1. Current State Analysis
- Review existing patterns in the codebase
- Identify which conventions apply
- Assess package/workspace boundaries (if monorepo)
- Check for existing shared packages that solve the problem

### 2. Design Proposal

For each new feature, define:
- **Database schema** — Tables, columns, RLS policies, foreign keys
- **Route structure** — Pages, layouts, loading states
- **Data flow** — Loaders for reads, server actions for writes
- **Service layer** — Business logic encapsulation
- **Component tree** — Server vs client components
- **Multi-tenant scoping** — account_id on all data

## Red Flags

Watch for these architectural anti-patterns:
- **Missing RLS** — Tables without Row Level Security
- **Wrong client** — Using admin client where standard client works
- **Mixed imports** — Server code imported in client components
- **Missing account_id** — Data not scoped to tenant
- **Duplicate UI** — Building custom UI when shared components exist
- **Multiple useState** — 4-5+ separate useState calls (use single state object)
- **useEffect overuse** — Usually indicates missing server-side data fetching
