When addressing issues or implementing improvements:
1. First analyze the current state and identify the root cause
2. Check `logs/hugo-server.log` for any related build errors or warnings
3. Plan the solution considering Hugo's architecture and theme constraints
4. Implement changes incrementally, testing at each step
